MINISTRIES

We are a community of people from all walks of life, journeying together to embrace God’s plan for us and Acton.  Whoever you are, you are welcome to join our community and journey with us.

Cafe Style

We want our times together to be welcoming to those who may not be used to church. Our building is not a typical church building, and you won’t find any pews or altars. We sit around small tables on chairs like you might find in a cafe and we keep things informal and easy going. There’s no dress code or anything special you need to come along.

There is always plenty of free tea and coffee flowing at the beginning and end of the service and you are welcome to join us for a chat and some munchies after the service has finished.

Worship

We love to worship together in a contemporary style. The band lead us with songs by artists like Matt Redman, Elevation Worship, Hillsong and Bethel as well as a few written in house! We sing songs in blocks together so that we can take the time and space to engage with God through our music and singing.

We love being open to the presence of the Spirit in worship and often let him guide us as we sing. The words are projected on screens so everyone can join in.

Children and Youth

We are a family church and we love having members of all ages as part of our community. We want everyone to have the opportunity to know and follow Jesus and to discover the gifts and calling on their lives. The children and young people stay in the service at the beginning and then go to their own sessions which are tailored to their age range.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer Ministry is available every Sunday during or after OakTree services. We love to stand with people and pray for and with them under the guidance and in the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe God heals today, emotionally and spiritually and we don’t want anyone to go home feeling oppressed or heavy laden. We have a specially trained team who can pray with you.

Sometimes in the service, some members may give a word of knowledge, where God reveals to them something specific He wants to pray for, other times people request prayer themselves.

Communion

We share Holy Communion on the third Sunday of each month. This shared, sacramental meal has been practised by Jesus followers for over 2000 years. We eat bread and wine together to remember the sacrifice Jesus made of giving his body and blood on the cross so that we might have eternal life and relationship with God the Father.

There is both alcoholic and non-alcoholic wine available. We welcome anyone who loves and knows Jesus to take communion with us. If you are not sure, or are still working out what you believe, we would love you to come and receive a short prayer of blessing.
