AdvancedRoom Available
We unexpectedly have a room going in our house again (don’t ask!!) so I thought I’d see if anyone knows of anyone looking. It’s available now but the person who’s moved out has committed to paying rent up until the end of April if necessary to ensure we find someone so it doesn’t matter if the new person can’t move in straight away.
The room is a single but a good size and fully furnished. It costs £355 pcm including the bills which as I’m sure you will know is very cheap for this area. It’s sharing with myself and Abbie plus a girl called Louisa who is fab! And we’re looking for a minimum 6 month commitment but ideally someone who might want to stay a bit longer term. We are happy to have someone of either sex as long as if it’s a guy he doesn’t mind sharing with all girls - and doesn’t expect us to clean up after him!!
If you’re interested then get in touch - through the site for any who don’t know me or via the usual channels those who do!
I’ve lived with a lot of women who don’t know the meaning of house work! (they think it is cleaning up after themselves and of course they never make any mess!). Currently I have a flat mate who is great at clearing up after himself, but hasn’t done any housework since he moved in!!! (the funny thing is he told me in front of his fiance just after I’d moved in that he cleaned the kitchen floor every 2 weeks with bleach!! - if I’d have lived there longer I would have laughed, instead I just looked quizically at the floor, which judging from the colour change when I washed it a few weeks later, hadn’t been washed for about 6 months!). The other guy I house shared with did lots of house work, where as the girl I lived with at the same time only did housework when her mother came to stay (once in a year)!
.
However, the last time we advertised for a housemate and didn’t include the words “female only”, we got some very odd men and didn’t repeat the exercise next time!

I’m just bumping this as we are still in need of a housemate for beginning of May at the latest. Please do let anyone you know who might be interested have my details. The landlord has finally decided to put our rent up
so the new price is £405 pcm but this is still a really good deal for the area AND he’s promised to decorate and replace the carpets!
Please also pray we’ll find someone as we usually have a lot more interest when we advertise than we have on this occasion!
And none of us can afford to pay extra rent next month…. Thanks

Have you agreed to rent increase - rents are stalling everywhere else so unless he has already made it better there is no real justification for his increasing it now… oh except perhaps his buy to let mortgage has gone up??

I highly doubt he has a mortgage he’s owned the place so long! But we’ve agreed an increase (seeing as he hasn’t increased it for a decade! And it is still really cheap) but have it in writing that he won’t put it up any further without improving the interior… We figured that was the best we could do…
Worth moving to Southall for £200 a month rent!!! (and the landlord was saying she thought it was high!!)
