Hello Marketeers
The Market stall has had it’s own MONEY crisis of late. But do not fear! In this e-mail comes the decisive news of what happened and what to do from here on!
Many people, often those who come most regularly ask if they can donate money to us for what we do.
Our answer has always been and will always be NO…
BUT an alternative was thought up… we could offer a collection tin for a local charity as somewhere people cold direct their giving…
Following Market Training on Monday night it has been voiced that this feels like a compromise to two of our core values –
SURPRISE: to give generously and counter-culturally.
NO STRINGS ATTACHED: to give for free.
So from here on we will have NO collection pot, we will accept NO donations because we want to give people a gift.
IF you are faced with someone who is uncomfortable with accepting it for free your response should be to direct them to ‘pass it on’ so that the kindness they recieve will challenge them to give kindness to others. Let me know what you think…
THIS WEEK there are spaces for volunteers for the afternoon shift (12-2pm)
… can you give some time to give surprisingly free gifts!?
