Thanks M!!

Was away at a conference a couple of weeks ago - so had a week off and so now getting back into routine slowly.... Been having trouble with my knees but seem to be getting better now wearing trainers and being more careful on my lunges and squats. Bad thing about home exercise is not having someone there to correct your bad form.

Managed to keep up over the Bank Holiday weekend though so as long as I'm disciplined this week I think we'll get back on track ok. It's the extras on top of the 6 week challenge which is hard to press into - but maybe as this is the hard level - that's less important.

Anyway - any exercise is better than none which is what I was doing two years ago!!

well....we're almost a year on now!! hehe...

I have still been plugging away faithfully with wii. At Christmas I got wii fit plus- which added a few new exercises to the routine...and meant I could craft my own yoga routine which was nice. But in March I bought EA Sports Active More Workouts which is a brilliant game and just what I needed to kick start my exercise regime from the twice a week slump.

You can use the balance board in some of the exercises which is great. You also need to purchase a leg strap and a resistance band. All in the game and accessories cost me £25 whichis not too bad.

The game has three 6-week challenges (easy, medium, hard) which give you different workouts each day and allow you to programme in 3 rest days a week (!!!). The workouts are about 25-40 mins in length and really work up a sweat - much more than the aerobics on wii fit. There are also custom workouts and a 'build your own workout' option. You can only weigh in once a week which is great and there's no horrid 'overweight' banner hung over you after you weigh, it just tells you in kilos.

At the moment - I'm on this four times a week. One of those times I'll follow up with yoga from wii fit plus and one of them I follow with a step routine for about 20 mins (much more aerobic on here than the wii fit offering).

There are also warm up and cool down routines which mean I'm not so stiff in the mornings anymore!

I finished the medium six week challenge last week and have just started on hard.... which basically just adds a few more reps to the exercises in medium.

I haven't seen any weight loss though! I'm swinging from 73 kg - 74 kg depending on where we are in the month though looking back at the old posts on here I see that it took a while for the weight to come off last time I upped the exercise.

So even after all this time I'm still short of the elusive goal of getting my BMI under 25 and it staying there. I think at this stage I'm probably where I'm supposed to be - short of going on a diet and I want my eating to be balanced but still enjoyable!

Anyway - highly recommend the new game if you're getting a bit bored/unmoitvated by wii fit!

request from Ed at church.

Hi all,

As some of you will know, I'm going to begin a further psychotherapy
training this September, and I have a request for which I'm looking for some
help. As part of the first year's training, I need to visit a mother and baby in
their home for an hour a week for a year. This is to observe a baby's very early
development, and how he/she relates to their mother. And so I'm looking for a
mother who is due in the autumn (Sept or Oct, ideally) who might be open to a
weekly visit from myself. The process is absolutely confidential, and I would of
course provide copies of my CRB checks as well as a letter from my training
institute verifying that I am who I say I am. I couldn't visit a friend, so if
any of you know anyone (ideally in or near W3) who might be open to the
possibility, I would be so grateful if you pass on my details. As you can
probably imagine, it's often harder for men to fix up this kind of thing than
women.

All the best and many thanks,

Ed
