AdvancedCaptain Cook and Pole Dancing and stuff...
There are lots of emails flying about re: the proposed license for the Captain Cook in Acton to do with extended drinking hours and pole dancing etc.
We have heard that there is a petition in Morrisons - should you wish to register your concerns. I said I would pass on the information…so there you go!

where can I get an application form…?
Sorry only joking…
I read the W3 forum. Seemed to be mainly people concerned about where the pole dancing patrons would be parking - hmmm, who drives to a pole dancing club?
Gala Bingo and the newsagent opposite also have petitions.
Our branch group were talking about this last night. (No, not planning our next social!) Apparently there has been plenty of ‘activity’ around that area in the past - ie drug dealing, prostitution, condoms and needles left around - and there’s a worry that this would increase if the licence goes ahead.
It’s not just a case of what goes on inside; those with children walking to schools nearby, or those who have to walk past late at night may also be concerned.
One person on the W3 forum did comment that it was nice for the Poles to have somewhere to dance … I guess that could apply to people from Lapland too (Lapp dancing, get it?)
Which mirrored the concerns raised by the last poster. I think the extended hours as well has been raised as an issue in its own right. Sadly I can’t sign the petition as I don’t live in Acton!!

As in a protesting against this obviously.
I know woofwoof is a gideon, Anyone up for becoming a Joshua or Caleb?
On a serious note we overheard on the way to branch group that the local residents have over 300 signatures so far.
