Branch Groups at Oak Tree are for growth – in our relationship with God, and with each other. They are safe places where there is fun, laughter, tears and life is shared. That’s the aim anyway! None of us is perfect and that is not the emphasis. We are there for each other when we get it right and when we get it wrong. We try to model acceptance based on who we are, not on how we perform. We try to learn together how to live out love combined with loving truth – this takes time, and part of the group is about sharing time together, during the week and over the years. We learn from each other, and from God.
Branch Groups are a place where we can learn to pray for each other, be used by the Holy Spirit, be filled with the Spirit, worship and learn to lead worship, become people of influence, study, internalise and live out God’s Word and support each other in our spiritual journeys. Everyone at Oak Tree is encouraged to join a group. God made us to be in relationship with Him. We are made in His image, and we are by nature relational. Getting to know others more deeply and be known by them is part of God’s design for us and necessary for our spiritual growth, and Branch Groups are a great way to do this.
These are our current branch groups and their leaders:
