From Ealing Council website:

Personal canvassers (age 18 and over) are needed throughout the borough to call on householders who have not returned their electoral registration forms. Canvassers must be available for evening and weekend work between Friday 13 October and Monday 20 November 2006.

The rate of pay will be £1.51 (net) for each completed form plus expenses of £23.98 (taxable) per 100 properties. Training will be given. Interested applicants should contact Santokh Kudhail, elections property officer (020) 8825 8160 or Jennie George, electoral services manager (020) 8825 6833.

The closing date for applications is Monday 2 October 2006.

I wonder if this might be a good way to meet people living in our area?

Unless we are feeling very generious and decide to do it for free I gather that the tax issues of having 2 jobs might make it a rather administrative process….

As a female I’d rather explore other options we could do as a group - although if we had our own building we could run a sign up service there ….
