Market CHURCH

Hello Marketeers

xmaslp01

Want to be a little hero this Christmas?!

Last year we made up some ‘joy-pack’ full of useful stuff like socks, gloves and
food for our friends that we meet through the market, those who often are a bit colder
and a bit worse off than us. We ended up having loads left over and so gave them to Emmaus
House which is one of the two centres for the homeless in Acton. This year we are teaming up with them
to make sure that any things we can give will go to the right people, and maybe even on Christmas day!

How can you give?

I’m going to set a scale: 80% of the list below is what might make up a ‘full’ joy-pack. At one end of the scale is you getting together with
some others, or your family and putting together a complete pack or two or three, wrapped up in a lovely christmas shopping bag or paper. At the other end
of the scale is you getting a few items and giving them to me, then I can put together packs with the help of some helpers!? Anything on that scale is brilliant.

JOY PACK list =

  • (about 8 out of these 10 things would be a great pack)
  • Gloves
  • Scarf
  • Socks
  • Shower gel
  • Tooth Brush+Paste
  • Tinned food
  • Cuppa soup
  • Chocolate
  • Small packets tissue

The drop off points are over the next 3 weeks are: Sundays at Twyford, Monday-Friday at the Office (9-5) or at Market on Saturdays (10-2).
We need to have everything together by Weds 16th December.
____________________________

This week…
STALL: One space for the morning shift (10-12), two spaces for the afternoon shift (12-2)
HOTs (prayer team): two space 10-12.

Market CHURCH

Hello Marketeers

santa sweater

I once was given a bright red jumper, it was part of a ‘make your own jumper’ kit that a relative had obviously got and, after having assembled it, had given it to me. So, it was red, it had three green dragons in a kind of flying duck formation on the front and…. behind one of those carefully sewn on green dragons was a squeaking device that meant if anyone pushed me in the chest a sharp “iiiaannnggghhhaaw” would fill the room (much to my sisters delight).

So here’s my point, we don’t always get the gifts we want!
But we all love gifts that are good.
And we are in the heritage of good gift givers (Matt 7:10-12).

At the market stall its not just about the gifts of tea and coffee that we give.
But it is about YOU being a good gift from the Father, to the community.

YOU ARE A GOOD GIFT!
(this Sunday is our gift day service, I want to encourage you to pray to ask God, who has made you (and everything you have) a gift, how you should give)

STALL: One space is available on both AM(10-12) and PM (12-2) shift.
HOTs: Two spaces are available (10-12)

Thank you for all you give.

Can your family give some time to hang out from 12-2pm this Saturday? Please let me know.
The stall and Hots is still running through the day too:

STALL: There is one morning shift place (10-12) and two afternoon shift places (12-2) available.
